Shuchi Goyal received a special scholarship from the University of California, Los Angeles, Department of Statistics, where she was recently admitted into the doctoral program starting Fall 2018. Statistics student Shuchi Goyal is a recipient of a CURO Research Assistantship for Spring 2018. This award includes a one-semester stipend of $1000 to conduct faculty-mentored research. As a CURO Research Assistant, Shuchi will continue her research on small area estimation, which she has been working on for the past six months under the guidance of Drs. Xiaoxiao Sun's paper "An asympirical smoothing parameters selection appproach for SS-ANOVA models in large samples" has been selected as one of the winners of this year's student paper competition from the Section on Statistical Computing.
