Jeffrey S. Rosenthal is a Professor of Statistics at the University of Toronto and a leading expert in probability theory and Markov chain Monte Carlo methods. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and a recipient of the COPSS Presidents’ Award, one of the highest honors in the statistical sciences. His other awards include the CRM–SSC Prize and the SSC Gold Medal. He is also widely recognized for his outstanding teaching and public outreach, including popular books and lectures on probability and statistics.
