Two Statistics students have been asked to join Phi Beta Kappa, the oldest of all American honor societies. It is one of the most distinguished honors in academic circles to be invited to join the society. This year’s invitees include Andrew Goodman and Daniel Oltmann.

The Grimes Fellowship provides academic year support to a graduate student in Franklin College majoring in the Natural Sciences working on the area of cancer research. The winner must be in good academic standing, have innovative ideas, and strong work ethic and a creative mind. 

Dr. Ping Ma from the Department of Statistics was featured in UGA Today on October, 24 2016 for his use of a new grant to crunch big data numbers. This research could help tackle diseases and save lives.

Seeking Applicants - Postdoctoral Research Associate Position

Statistics Major, Sarah Robinson, won the "Outstanding Undergraduate Student Presentation Award" at the International Conference on Advances in Interdisciplinary Statistics and Combinatorics, held in Greensboror, NC on September 30th- October 2nd, 2016.
